Fascia, soffit and guttering services
Roofline components help protect the edges of the roof and direct water away from the building. Deteriorated boards, sagging gutters or leaking joints can leave walls and eaves exposed to repeated wetting. We accept fascia, soffit and guttering enquiries on the Isle of Wight for repairs and replacement, with the approach based on the existing construction.
Fascia repairs and timber condition
Covering over a damaged board may conceal a problem rather than resolve it. Where there are signs of decay or movement, the supporting material needs to be assessed. The scope of work should identify whether existing boards will be retained, repaired or removed, and how the new components will be supported.
Soffit ventilation and weather protection
Roof ventilation arrangements should be understood before replacing soffits or closing gaps at the eaves. A neat finish needs to preserve the roof’s intended airflow and weather resistance. We consider the relationship between the roof covering, eaves details, gutter position and soffits so that the components work together.
Guttering and downpipe replacement
Gutters need suitable support, sound joints and a clear route to the outlets. The size and layout should be appropriate for the roof draining into them. Leaks are not always a sign that the whole gutter system needs replacing; sometimes a joint, bracket or blockage is responsible. We explain whether repair or replacement is proposed.
Planning your roofline replacement
Tell us about your preferred colour and finish, the areas that need attention and your Isle of Wight postcode. Access arrangements and any concealed damage can affect the scope. If you are already arranging roof work, it may be useful to consider the roofline at the same time so that access and detailing can be coordinated.
